10 Things I Learned From My Mom

In honor of Mother’s Day, I wanted to share a few things that I have learned from my wonderful mother:

  1. Everything will work out in the end. There will certainly be bumps along the way, but the result will be worth it.
  2. Nothing in life is free. You need to work for what you want.
  3. Reward yourself; you’ve worked hard.
  4. Your wellbeing comes before everything else. Not work, and not school, but your own mental health.
  5. Laugh often. And then laugh some more. It is the best medicine, after all.
  6. There aren’t too many things that wine and chocolate can’t fix.
  7. Do things one at a time to prevent feeling overwhelmed.
  8. Save early. Even if you’ve just finished school, you’ll thank yourself later.
  9. There’s no such thing as too many Christmas cookies.
  10. The most important thing in life is to be happy.
