How To Turn Your Bathroom Into a Sanctuary

The bathroom is unquestionably the most private room in a house. Be it a long, hot shower, or a soothing bubble bath, it is the best place in the home to relax. But, if you feel like your bathroom isn’t very inviting or calming, here are some things you can do to turn your bathroom into your own personal sanctuary.

Use Light Colors

If you’re able to paint your bathroom, or even remodel it, stick with lighter paint colors and finishes. If you’re unable to change your bathroom, use light colored towels, rugs, shower curtains and artwork to lighten up the space. The light colors will make the space feel more open and bright, making the space feel clean and inviting.

Not only do candles give off a beautiful glow when they are lit, they can also provide calming scents for your own personal aromatherapy. Choose floral and earthy scents for a more relaxing spa-like vibe.

Fluffy Towels & Robe

What is a bathroom without nice fluffy towels? They’re warm, soft, and they make a bathroom look like it’s in an upscale hotel. Top off the comfort with a large fluffy robe and slippers to lounge in after relaxing in the shower or bath.

Assortment of Products

To go along with the hotel feel, place an assortment of products in your bathroom so that you and your guests have things to choose from. You could choose different lotions, soaps, bath bombs, sugar scrubs… you name it. You can even display them in a small basket or on top of a tray to add to the vibe.

Add Greenery

If you want your bathroom to have more natural elements to create a calming atmosphere, consider adding some flowers and other plants around the room. Whether they are succulents, cacti, potted plants, or flowers, they will add some life into your bathroom.

  1. Yessss. I have candles and fluffy towels in my bathroom now, but plants also sound like a nice addition. 🙂
I also always have plenty of essential oils on deck for baths.
